Description

Fort Myers Technical College in Fort Myers, Florida has an anticipated opening for an Electricity Instructor for the 2021-2022 school year. This program offers a sequence of courses that provide coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Architecture and Construction career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem- solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation- specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the Architecture and Construction career cluster. The content includes but is not limited to planning and installing electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.

Requirements

The instructor position requires a minimum of six years full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in electrical occupations.  Alternatively, a minimum of two (2) years of full-time occupational experience or the equivalent in part-time experience in electrical occupations in combination with postsecondary education or training as adopted by school board policy for issuing non-degreed certificates is acceptable.

Applicants must have documentation of industry certification when state or national industry certifications are available and applicable.
