The Event Content Associate plays a critical role within the Conferences & Events Team assisting the execution of diverse education programming for USGBC’s global events portfolio. The role supports the full life cycle of the education development process and is pivotal in assisting stakeholder management and volunteer committee support, as well as supporting all technical and web components in support of USGBC’s accredited education products curated for domestic and international audiences, presented either in-person or virtually. This role also helps support continuing education reporting processes and policy maintenance. USGBC offers equitable access to our educational programs to expand our reach into the green building community and minimize our carbon footprint through technology forward platforms, including live and on-demand digital productions, traditional in-person events and conferences, as well as the blended content experience of hybrid events. The success of this position requires the interest and resilience to thrive in this type of constantly evolving industry and fast-paced team environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support the development of USGBC’s portfolio of event content by working effectively across internal USGBC departments as well as external partners to assist in curating outstanding education content; provide logistics, promotion, and general project management support to deliver best in industry education programming.
- Assist developing and executing educational program content for assigned virtual and in-person events curated for diverse audiences. Duties include:
- Call for Proposals (CFP), including submission guide creation, CFP website build, and submission data tracking
- Volunteer committee solicitation, correspondence, and support
- Coordinating proposal review and selection processes, including preparations for and support at program review retreats
- Speaker communication, including proposal status and change requests
- high-caliber speaker research
- Serve as the team lead and internal liaison on the continuing education processes to:
- Ensure education sessions are correctly submitted to credentialing body for continuing education credit
- Manage attendee continuing education needs including submit credits on behalf of attendees, including managing data uploads and reporting
- Support continuing education certificates as needed.
- Assist with general operational program and event content needs (presentation reviews, customer service inquires, program retreat preparations, etc.)
- Support the event content team with certain marketing initiatives such as drafting and updating articles, reviewing printed materials, supporting website content quality assurance, etc.
- Serve as the main point of contact for educational software/platform vendor. Duties include but are not limited to managing communication with vendor support team members, setting up reoccurring meetings and review vendor contracts for approval.
- Serve as technology lead for uploading session content into registration websites, mobile apps, etc.
- Liaise with Registration Project Manager to support speaker registration and session registration data and analytics.
- Assist in researching products and vendors related to education session delivery
- Support audio and video editing of recorded education content
- Support in virtual and in person event delivery as assigned

Requirements
What You Need To Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-2 years applicable experience demonstrating progressive growth and success
- Demonstrated understanding of event planning with aptitude handling program development, volunteer management, committee oversight, and a strong understanding of the continuing education field
- Proficient in the full Microsoft Office suite programs - desktop and office 365 applications
- Experience with cloud document sharing solutions such as Google, Dropbox, Sharepoint and Box
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as MS Teams, Slack and others
- Familiarity with virtual conference solutions such as Zoom, Webex and others
- Knowledge and understanding working in databases
- Exceptional organization skills with meticulous note taking and follow-up
Other Things We’d Like You To Bring:
- Experience with Cadmium or other education session management systems preferred
- Experience with sustainability or greening initiatives preferred
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong strategic thinker with tactical skills
- Deadline-oriented with ability to work efficiently on multiple assignments simultaneously and nimbly between projects

Details:
- Full Time, permanent, salaried, benefits-eligible, exempt status
- Location: 2101 L Street NW, Washington, DC
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm EST, 40 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends, flexible work opportunities available
- Travel – Availability and willingness to work outside regular business hours (Up to 10% travel required to support events.)
